TEST …………

Today we answer the questions same as the format of test  for preparing our midterm test. This is because next week we will have a test. So, this will help us  to prepare and achieve a good result. From this exercises I get 8.5 marks. I’ m feel shocked when I know my marks because I really not sure and confident with my answer. However I’ m feel thankful to the God and I hope I will get the good result in my  real test  too. InsyaAllah…

Information Transfer (Non Linear to Linear text)
Today, I have learned how to do information transfer writing from non linear to linear text. For me is quite difficult but after doing presentation   I’ m feel it will be easy when I know the way how to do. There is example of our presentation on the evening class.
How students spend their time after classes

From the pie chart, it can be shown that how students spend their time after classes according to the percentage such as involve in outdoor activities, going for movies, studying, socialising and indoor activities.  OVERVIEW

According to the pie chart, the highest percentage of how the students spend their time after classes is an indoor activity which is 35% because they don’t prefer to spend more time and energy on physical activities. This shows that most of the students spend their times by  playing computer and board games, cooking and collecting stamps after classes.                                    CONTROLLING IDEA & KF1

Outdoor activities such as exercising and gardening and going for movies are the lowest  percentage by 10%. This might be due to lack of time as they have lot of assignments and project to do.
        CONTROLLING IDEA & KF 2

The second highest percentage of students’ spend their time after classes is 25% by socialising. This is due to reduce the stress by visiting places or chatting online with friends. In addition, another 20% students choose to study for the sake of their examination.
                   CONTROLLING IDEA & KF 3

We can say that most of the students will spend their time involving indoor activities compared to others as the cost is lower and there is no need to use too much energy. As a result, the university should provide enough facilities for the students.
                                                PREDICTION

Students should know how to spend their time after classes so that they can manage their time effectively to obtain good results and at the same time they still can enjoy their favourite activities.                               PROPOSAL

How students spend their time after classes (title)

The pie chart represents how students spend their time after classes such as outdoor activities, going for movies, studying, socialising and indoor activities based on percentage.                                   (overview)

According to the pie chart, the most outstanding percentage is an indoor activity which represents 35% because students do not want waste their energy by physical activities such as cooking and collecting stamps.  (controlling idea & KF1)

There is 25% gap between the lowest and the highest activities based on pie chart. As we can see, students prefer less outdoor activities and going for movies such as fishing, gardening, and watching comedies or action movies because the cost for outdoor activities is higher than indoor activities.        (controlling idea & KF2)

Based on the pie chart, the second highest student spend their time after classes is socialising which represents 25%.Student usually enjoy their social life such as chatting online, going out with friends and visiting places. It helps student relax their mind rather than doing homework, assignment, project research and group study which consist 20% of studying.                 (controlling idea & KF3)

From the pie chart, we can assume that the percentage of indoor activities will increase rapidly in the future. (P1) Due to the prediction we have made, UiTM should increase the number of facilities of indoor activities for students. (P2)

HOW STUDENT SPEND THEIR TIME AFTER CLASSES

The pie chart shows that how students spend their time after classes based on percentage such as indoor activities, socialising, studying, going for movies and outdoor activities .                       (OVERVIEW)

Based on the pie chart, we can infer that almost 35% of the students love to spend their time after class by doing indoor activities such as playing computer, cooking and collecting stamps. This might be due to lower cost of activities and easy access of internet.                                                (CI & KF1)

Besides that, it also can be seen that 25% of the students which is the second highest percentage spend their time after class by socialising such as chatting online, going out with friends and visiting places.     (CI & KF2)

The pie chart indicates that 20% of students spend their time after classes with studying. They take this time to do their homework, assignments, projects, research and study group. 15% gap might be because the students need to relax then focussing on their studies .
On the other hand, outdoor activities and going to movie have the same percentage which is 10%. For instance, exercising, gardening, watch comedies and romance movies. It shows that these two type of activities are the least popular activities among students due to the lack of time.        (CI & KF3)

The percentage of indoor activities will increase steadily while going for movies as well as outdoor activities will decrease considerably. This situation happens because students are more likely spend their quality time with indoor activities  instead of going out because it is wasting their time.     (PREDICTION – PROPOSAL)

How students spend their time after classes

This pie chart indicates that how students spend their time after classes based on percentage of indoor activities, socializing, studying, and going for movies and outdoor activities.                                                   (OVERVIEW)

It can be seen from the pie chart that indoor activities represent 35% such as playing computer and board game is the highest percentage of how students spend their time after classes while the lowest percentage are outdoor activities and going for movies that represent 10 % . This might be due to the lowest cost and students less interested in going out for movies such as romance movies and comedies and outdoor activities such as exercising, and fishing.               (CI & KF1)

However, the second highest how students spend their time after classes is socializing which is 25% and the third is studying represents 20%. There is gap of 5% between socializing and studying. This is due to students more interested in chatting  online, going out with friends and visiting place than doing assignments and research .
(CI & KF2)

Based on the pie chart, it shows student spend most of their time after classes on indoor activities. Probably the percentage will increase then become higher in future. As a result, university should provide more sport facilities so that students can use their leisure time wisely.                             (P1 & P2)

Making inference & predictions

Today I have learned about making inference and predictions. Miss Zu provide activity of making prediction from the video we watch and we will predict what will  be happen after the pause scene. I’ m also fallen in love with the song by Bruno Mars. The song really touched my heart and the ending of the video  is very sad and tragic.  L

THE INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH

On the evening class, we are required to present the introduction  by each group. Our group is present about current events’ .

TYPE OF HOOK :~
Personal Examples
First time I saw him at the bus station. He was alone by himself. He was very messy with his tattered cloths and only with barefooted. I felt pity of him and I want to help him as I could. I went to him and try to talk to him. Suddenly, he cried by my side because nobody wanted to be around him. I tried to calm him as he explained his situation. I felt very sad when I listen to his problems, he has seven children who are still young and his wife is a disabled woman. Coincidently, he was lucky that my father needs a gardener to help him to look after our gardens. Pak Abu is now our gardener at home. As a matter of fact, Pak Abu’s experiences of poverty life make him really suffered and it effected his life completely. Thus, the effects of poor and poverty can be seen physically, psychologically and socially in a person’s daily life.

 QUOTATIONS
“I am tired of being poor, this is humiliating.” A young girl emotionally said to myself. A young girl said to herself. She never asked for this poverty fate. She was born in a poor family. She couldnot own anything that other teens have. I am that young girl. This poverty stopped many people from achieve their dreams. Apart from that, many from their kind doesnot know that they can seek help to improve their life. This poverty can be improve by government giving help through their children’s education,  economy welfare and motivation as a self-improvement.
Facts & Statistics
According to Utusan Malaysia, 45 thousands of foreign workers migrated to Malaysia legally to fill up the opportunity of jobs here. Most of the foreign workers are coming from Indonesia, Myanmar and Thailand. This situation has caused a problem to local workers as 45 thousand people in Malaysia have been unemployed. Thus, an unemployment of local workers more or less gives a lot of negative effect especially to Malaysia such as the crime rate will increase, money exchange frequently done by foreign workers and the income level of local workers will decrease.

Rhetorical questions
Did you know that each year college students spent a lot of money on alcohol? This is more than they spend on soft drink, milk, juice, tea, coffee and books combined. Why do college students spend so much money to get drunk at the end of a hard week of studying? It is because there is nothing else to do or is it because drinking relieves problem that the person is trying to avoid. One of the major problems of alcohol is related to the cognitive  dissonance. Drinking alcohol  has an effect on students’ cognitive dissonance such as a connection between how much students drink,  their dissonance level and what causes the student loss their dissonance.

Current events

In 2007, the Star newspaper reported that an IPTS student in Segamat has dumped a baby in a plastic bag into a big drain. The baby which his umbilical cord is still intact was found by a good Samaritan. Two years later, Malaysia was shocked again by the same news: A fisherman had accidently fished a black plastic bag which he taught it was an ordinary plastic bag that had been littered by the irresponsible persons. He then opened the plastic bag out of curiosity and then was horrified for what he saw. A decayed baby!. These news proved that the statistics of social problems are increasing up until now. Thus, to ace these social problems, one should have a strong moral value, parents should play their roles effectively and  one should use media wisely.

CONTRAST TO THE THESIS STATEMENT
Since the back of thousands years ago, alcohol has been famous and promoted in human lives. In chemistry, alcohol has been used for many things such as to produce ethanol and methanol which are commonly use in medication. Ethanol is used to treat methanol poisoning by reducing the rate of which methanol is metabolised. Research in the last few years found that there are a lot of advantages of alcohol such as the source of energy in the diet and can release our stress. However, nowadays alcohol leads to many harmful drawbacks. Thus, the disadvantages of alcohol can  cause  liver’s damage,  poor judgement , and effect of our brain.

DEFINITION
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome ( AIDS) is defined as a disease of the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) known as a deadly virus that was originated in the early 80’s of the twentieth century. What do you think once you see the patient of AIDS? Do you feel scared or  disgusted?.  Unfortunately, many of us do not know what   AIDS patients  had gone through in  their lives with this disease. Some of them get the disease in advertent but some of them get it because of themselves. This disease has become a serious crisis for the whole world today. Due to the above statements,  AIDS  can  give many bad effects to a person’s  life such as it leads to fatal, it  wastes  money  to get treatments and being ignored by  the society .

FACT & OPINION

Today we have a class at SL006 but my friends and I came late because we have a test at DST. In this night class, Miss Zu prepared an activity about how to identify the fact and opinion. From my understanding a fact is objective information that can be checked or proved to be. The clues to identify fact are use of dates, statistics and definitions.
While an opinion is a statement that cannot be proved to be true or false. The clues to identify opinion are use of adjectives, advisability and suggestion. The activity is to promote product with including fact and opinion. Our group is needed to promote a dictionary. The class become so happening and fun because all group is compete to answer and collected marks to become a winner.

This is our product to promote.

This is the promotion by our group.
